My 2017 Random Reading List and Catching Up
It's great to be writing again so soon. While I'd like to post more often, my life is quite busy. Today, I'd like to share my reading goals for 2017. I've always loved the written word. I write myself, by hand, with a fountain pen. It's a beautiful experience for me, even though it's incredibly outdated in this world of ever advancing technology. There's something about the comforting weight of the pen in my hand, the sound of the nib going across the paper and the gentle glide of the ink following the nib's movement. It's so meditative and occasionally, erratic and nonsensical. Please excuse the tangent. I do have the tendency to write poetically at the strangest times. As for my list, I chose the fiction books randomly from a list of approximately 300 books I'd like to read eventually, but the reference books are those I'm learning from as I write my book. Here's the list:

2. Encyclopedia of Spirits by Judika Illes.
I know it seems like a lot, but I read quickly. Also, for those of you who enjoy seeing my art, I'm still painting. Recently, I've been obsessed with creating mandalas. Another somewhat recent obsession of mine is bullet journaling. I have also been crocheting and quilting, but after my last quilting project took 7 months to complete, I'm not in any hurry to pick up a needle and thread again. I will still be sharing my projects, but I also hope to broaden my blog content to include other types of posts. I hope you'll stick around.
As for family news, I got to see my aunt for the first time in a 15 years this past June. Here's a picture of us together:
I also have a new niece named Stella. In the picture below, she's farthest to the right. My nephew, Frodo, is farthest to the left, and my nephew, Oscar, is in the middle.
